Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any Zumfi product or service — including Zumfi Finance, Mnemosyne, CharmWriter, Zumfi Habbit, and the zumfi.net website — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Our Products

Self-Hosted Products

Zumfi Finance and Mnemosyne are open-source software distributed under the terms of their respective licenses (see each repository for details). You may use, modify, and distribute them according to those licenses. Self-hosted installations are entirely your responsibility — including backups, security, and compliance with local regulations.

Hosted Products

CharmWriter and Zumfi Habbit are hosted services operated by Zumfi. We provide these services on a best-effort basis and reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any hosted service with reasonable notice.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
• One person may not maintain more than one free account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use our services to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Distribute malware, spam, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Use automated tools to scrape or overload our services
• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights

5. Content Ownership

Your content is yours. Stories you write in CharmWriter, habits you track in Zumfi Habbit, finances you manage in Zumfi Finance, and notes you create in Mnemosyne belong to you. We do not claim ownership over any content you create using our products.

You grant Zumfi a limited license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

6. AI-Generated Content

Our products use artificial intelligence to assist with content creation, categorization, and analysis. AI-generated suggestions and outputs are provided as-is. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated content before publication or use.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. AI outputs should not be relied upon as professional financial, legal, or medical advice.

7. Open Source Contributions

Contributions to our open-source repositories are governed by the respective project licenses and contribution guidelines. By submitting a pull request or issue, you agree that your contribution may be used under the project's license.

8. Donations

Donations made through our products (e.g., "Buy a Carrot for Zumi") are voluntary and non-refundable. Donations do not entitle you to additional features, services, or support beyond what is freely available.

9. Limitation of Liability

Zumfi products are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any data loss resulting from self-hosted installations
• We are not liable for financial decisions made based on data in Zumfi Finance
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim (if any)

10. Termination

You may stop using our services at any time. For hosted products, you may delete your account through the settings page or by contacting us.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. In such cases, we will provide you with an opportunity to export your data before permanent deletion.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Czech Republic.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through our products. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
